Bishop Willie L Monnet Sr
Prison Ministry
Vision
To proclaim the word of God to souls who are incarcerated or unable to physically attend church services by preaching the gospel in written form.

History
Pastor Monnet first began his Prison Ministry outreach while at Gideon Christian Fellowship in 1994. He, along with another brother would alternate Thursdays going to Elyan Hunts Correctional Institution in St. Gabriel, LA. Pastor Monnet, would faithfully keep his schedule to visit the prisoners and share the gospel.

In 2002, after teaching at Smoking for Jesus Ministry on the topic, "How Can I KNow I Am A CHristian," Pastor wanted to put these particular sermons to text, in an effort to start a correspondence course that would reach the lost souls in the prison as well and the sick and shut in. Initially, we were able to get approval to have our Prison Ministry go into the Orleans and Gretna Parish prisons but we experienced delays.

On, August 19, 2006, the first lesson was mailed to an inmate in the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, LA. November 7, 2006 we were in 4 facilities with 11 souls on the program. By January of 2007 we were in 14 facilities with 65 participants, with 40 of these being female and one youth; and by January of 2008, 101 participants were on the program.

Today, we are currently in 160 facilities ans a total of 14 states. This outreach ministry had touched the lives of over 4,000 souls and beyond.
